Take What You Want!

Have you ever heard the saying you've got to take what you want? Well I finally got a chance to understand the true meaning of that. I must say it felt damn good! I reached a point, where I just didn't care, I was going for it and I lept!

Sometimes hard work just isn't enough. You realize that you work so hard and are so passionate about what you do but you just don't get what you want. Maybe it's a promotion, a better grade, a new client. And then the day comes, where your ray of light is blocked. So what do you do? Accept the block or do you step to the side and move forward back into the light?

If you want something and you know deep down inside that you deserve it then go for it. Stand your ground, be confident and hold your head up and go for it. What do you have to lose? Wouldn't you have more to lose if you don't go for it?

My momma always used to say a closed mouth doesn't get fed. Get out there and go for it! Make the damn thing happen!

What is your passion?

When considering starting a business, the first thing you should consider is what your passion is. What do you enjoy most? What responsibilities from current or past careers did you enjoy most? What brought you the most degree of enjoyment and importantly satisfaction?

Many reasons why entrepreneurs fail is because they don't have passion for what they are providing. When you don't have passion you don't have drive, when you don't have drive you don't have the desire, hence resulting in failure.

I truly believe the saying, do what you love and the money will follow. There are many books on Amazon.com that cover this very subject. In my previous post, I quoted Russell Simmons, Do You! His book discusses how along with doing you, not only will want to do you and take those calculated risk, but you must also understand how doing you may not necessarily be a success every time, but you are more likely to have that internal satisfaction that you did not compromise yourself.

There are so many possibilities for designing a business when considering what you enjoy most. For some suggestions, I recommend going to Fabjob.com for ideas on many different businesses you can start. These books are very informative provide detailed business operating guidelines. Plus they are not expensive and I believe all of their books you can download immediately.

Last but not least, when you are passionate about what you do, you look forward to doing it every day and you always put your best efforts towards your endeavors.

New Beginnings...

So I decided to revamp my blog. I would like to invite you to share in my journey to Queendom. Yes, I follow Queendom's blog as well. I invite your to please share your views on my posts as I promise not to bite! I enjoy good conversation and a healthy debate.

I have been working on starting my own business so I can leave the cubicle world. I must say the hardest thing for me to do was come up with a business name. It doesn't help that I have a marketing education and everything I've learned has not helping me come up with a business name, in addition I recall the feedback from my Marketing instructors...You must consider your brand image!

My perspective is if you are confident in yourself and the services you provide as a business owner then why must one be so consumed with a business name...and I quote Russell Simmons, "Do You!". So I'm doing me and throwing everything I've learned in Marketing class out the window...ok well not everything!

If you are in the process of starting a new business, I've been going through it for a while and I am more than happy to share what I've learned and to assist in pointing you in the right direction. If you have questions, please ask away!

I will end my posts with this...if you want to be successful then surround yourself around those with the same goals. Be in the company of genuine good people that are uplifting and supportive. And remember, Do You!
